比如图书馆的书录啦 什么的 都是catalog
a catalog of all the books in the library
图书馆里所有书籍的目录
directory有指南 使用手册 等的意思
并且 电脑里面的文件夹也是这词
TABLE OF CONTENT 一般指的是论文的目录
书的目录也可以用CATALOG的
一般指分类很多的话用CATALOG
并且CATALOG也可以作为动词使用
catalogue the VCD sets 把VCD集分类,或者编成目录
Directory主要由两种意思：
1. an alphabetical list of names and addresses(主要是按字母顺序排列的名字地址本)
2. (computer science) a listing of the files stored in memory (usually on a hard disk)（用于计算机术语，意思是文件在硬盘上的储存表）
Catalog主要由两种意思
1. a book or pamphlet containing an enumeration of things（包括其他事物细目的书或小册子）
2. a complete list of things; usually arranged systematically（系统的统计一系列事物的完整列表）
